Not many know where Clarksdale, Mississippi is, but this is where Phyllis Rome called home. In 1993, Phyllis was a 22-year-old petite young woman who had her whole life ahead of her. On June 19th of that year, she went out to Red’s (also known by the names of Red’s Lounge, Red’s Juke Joint, Red’s Nite Spot, Red’s Nightclub, and Red’s Night Club) like many other early-twenties youths looking to enjoy the warming weather in the Deep South. It was around 8:00 p.m. that evening that the last sighting of Phyllis was reported at the club. After that, Phyllis disappeared, never to be seen or heard from again.

Her vanishing remains an unsolved, unexplained mystery.

At the time of her disappearance, Phyllis was described as having black hair and brown eyes. She’s short in stature, standing at 5’0″ and weighing approximately 100 pounds. One of her ears had one piercing while the other has three. She also had a nose piercing. Phyllis was last seen wearing a white shirt, light blue shorts with polka dots, and blue socks. Where she could have gone after being at Red’s continues to puzzle investigators. Her missing person case has been cold for 15 years and no new leads have surfaced.

Phyllis’s friends and family deserve peace in knowing what happened to this young woman who is loved and remembered, even in her absence.
