Alma Felicia Lewis

In the summer of 1999, Alma Felicia Lewis vanished without a trace. The last time anyone had contact with her was on July 30 in Memphis, Tennessee. Alma was on a cross-country road trip to California to pick up her child, but somewhere on the route, the 27-year-old disappeared.

The details in Alma’s missing person case are few and for almost 20 years investigators haven’t been able to piece together what happened to Alma on her journey. Because her mother, who lives in Illinois, reported her missing, the police there are in charge of her case. It’s unclear if other agencies from varying states have been involved since Alma was traveling such a far distance. There isn’t any public information about her last movements before she was last seen.

At the time of her disappearance, Alma was 5’2″ tall and 144 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes, multiple piercings in her ears and a scar over one of her eyebrows. She goes by the nicknames “Lady” and “Felicia.”

Anyone with information regarding Alma is urged to contact the Illinois State Police at 815-632-4010. Her agency case number is 06-13498ST and her NCIC Number is M-625839488. If you know anything about how or why Alma never made it to California, consider helping a family who has been searching for answers for decades.

Arverne Jane Doe 1991

Some of the most heartbreaking stories are about people who pass away or who have been murdered only to never be identified. Arverne Jane Doe was found on May 1, 1991, in Queens, New York along the shore of Jamaica Bay near Beach 62 Street in the neighborhood of Arverne. It’s reported that her state of decomposition was severe and an investigation revealed she’d been dead for at least a few months before she was located. A medical examiner determined Arverne Jane Doe had been beaten to death in either late 1990 or sometime in early 1991.
