Kenisha Washington, 24: Was Found Dead In A Vacant Lot In 2018

Kenisha Washington murder missing

A family pleaded for the public’s help locating 24-year-old Kenisha Washington, a young woman from Kansas City, Missouri, in September 2018. According to Kenisha’s mother, LaVette Kelly, Kenisha was last seen in the area near 43rd Street and Sterling, and on Facebook, Kenisha “checked in” at Taco Bell the day she disappeared. Kenisha never returned home, calls to Kenisha went unanswered, and all updates on her social media pages have ceased. Then, her family received the news they dreaded the most.

Kenisha Washington Missing Murder

The badly decomposed body of Kenisha Washington was found in a vacant lot the day before Thanksgiving. Her family said they received strange messages regarding her missing person case. It’s reported that there were no apparent signs of foul play, and there haven’t been any updates on precisely how Kenisha lost her life. However, her relatives have shared on social media that she was murdered. Her mother made repeated public pleas on social media, hoping that someone would share any bit of information that would help bring justice for her daughter.

“Kenisha Washington was my sister,” said Kenneth Washington. “My youngest sister. She was a young, bright soul. A great sense of humor. A beautiful person. She did not deserve this horrific crime. I’m asking people to come forward with any information they may have.”

Kenisha’s mother, LaVette Kelley, told Fox 4 KC in 2018, “I am not holding up. This is the worst thing I’ve ever gone through. It’s like I can still hear her crying out to me saying help me mom.”

Kenisha had been treated for mental health issues in the past, and LaVette claimed that her daughter was easily influenced. The missing woman’s family believes that she could have been misled and then kidnapped and held against her will before she was killed.

In July, this message was posted to the Kenisha Washington Foundation Facebook Page: “O yeah they say Black Life Matters, then why have not anyone came forward? 🗣 😭😭 😭🤦🏽‍♀️My family needs Justice for my daughter Kenisha Washington.
