It was soon after the Thanksgiving season in 2016 when family members last had contact with Laquadra Shavonne Slater on December 2 in Flint Township, Michigan. Soon after, Laquandra’s vehicle was found abandoned in the area near Atherton Road and Van Slyke Road. There hasn’t been any movement in Laquandra’s case since the time she disappeared.
“Somebody had to do something to her, take her somewhere,” said LaToya Brown, Laquandra’s cousin.
The holidays are a particularly difficult time as Laquandra is a family-oriented person who enjoys spending time with her loved ones. For two years, investigators haven’t received any new information about what may have happened to the 38-year-old, but someone, somewhere, has the key that detectives need.
At the time of her disappearance, Laquandra was 5’4″ tall and 180-200 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes, and multiple piercings including those located on her lip, eyebrow, and ears. She also has a number of tattoos: dolphins and fish from her foot up her body, a portrait of her mother on her upper arm, a sun on her arm, and other tattoos on her arms, legs, and neck. Laquandra goes by the nickname “Say V” and may use the last name “Kelly.”
Anyone with information regarding Laquandra’s case is urged to contact the Flint Township Police Department at 810-600-3250.
