Keeshae Jacobs Vanished After Texting Her Mom She Was Staying At A Friend’s House

Keeshae Jacobs

In 2016, 21-year-old Keeshae Jacobs was dropped off at 3102 E. Broad Street in Richmond, Virginia. Keeshae texted her mother, letting her know that she would be spending the evening at a friend’s house, but not to worry because she would be home the following day.

She hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

After being reported missing, investigators looked into Keeshae’s records and saw that the young woman’s life had come to a standstill. There has been no movement on her mobile phone, her bank accounts, or on social media. After graduating from Richmond High School, Keeshae stayed home with her mother and supported herself by working a number of jobs while she contemplated what to do next with her life. She and her mother had a close bond, so for Keeshae to disappear without checking in is abnormal behavior.

“Please just tell me where my baby is at,” Keeshae’s mother, Toni Jacobs, said. “I don’t care about any of the other stuff. I just want Keeshae back. She was my baby. She’s been with me. It’s hard to explain how lost I feel without her.”

Later, information surfaced that an incarcerated, convicted felon had information regarding Jacobs’ case. According to WTVR News, the unnamed man is serving a near-decade-long sentence for a violent crime against another woman. His name has not been released because investigators fear it could jeopardize Jacobs’ case.

“I’m doing 110 percent of what I can to find the answers she needs for Keeshae, to bring her back home,” said Richmond Detective Billy Thompson, the lead investigator.

Three and a half months after Keeshae disappeared, her brother was murdered. A suspect has been arrested and charged in that case and police don’t believe that the murder and the Keeshae’s missing person case are related.

“No doubt in my mind that someone in that Broad Street corridor knows something about this,” Thompson said. “If we could just touch their heart, bring them to come forward.”
