Carlita Yvette Gentry Lohmeier, 56: Went To The Store & Never Returned Home
A quick trip to the store became a Michigan family’s nightmare back in 2009. On November 20 that year, 56-year-old Carlita Yvette Gentry Lohmeier was at her Detroit home with her mother. Carlita needed some items from her local store on Hubbell and Fenkell, so she told her mother she would be back within a few minutes. However, Carlita was never seen or heard from again.
There are very few details made public in her case, but it is known that she was a widow with three children. Some reports state that she left her identification behind, indicating that she didn’t intend to be away for long.
A Family Suffers Another Loss
Additionally, eight years after Carlita went missing, her family endured another tragedy. As they continued to seek answers in Carlita’s case, they learned that Carlita’s cousin, Mia Patterson, also disappeared from Detroit in 2017. Unfortunately, in April 2018, Mia’s remains were located on the west side of the city. Her murder remains unsolved, and the investigation into that case is unknown. Investigators do not believe the two cases are related.

At the time of her disappearance, Carlita was 5 foot 4 inches and weighed 107 pounds. She wore a short jacket, blue jeans, and red medium-length crocodile boots. She has gray hair, brown eyes, and a small scar in the center of her forehead. Her right earlobe is split from where an earring was pulled out. She liked wearing hairpieces and dark-colored wigs. She was also known for using the last name “Patterson.”
