Kamille McKinney: Two People Charged With Capital Murder For Death Of 3-Year-Old
After weeks of searching, the body of three-year-old Kamille McKinney, also known as Cupcake, has been located. The young girl was at a birthday party in Birmingham, Alabama, on October 12, 2019, when she was abducted in broad daylight. A dark color Toyota Sequoia was linked to the child’s missing person case, and authorities traced surveillance footage from surrounding homes and businesses to track down two suspects.
This week, Patrick Stallworth, 39, and his girlfriend Derick Brown, 29 were hit with charges after Kamille’s body was located inside of a dumpster in a landfill. According to reports released today, Kamille died as a result of asphyxiation by suffocation on the same day that she was abducted.
In addition to kidnapping, Stallworth and Brown face a charge of capital murder of a victim less than 14 years of age. The couple doesn’t seem to have any direct relationship with Kamille or her family. Authorities believe they saw an opportunity to take a small child and seized the moment.

Stallworth adamantly denies involvement in this case and told a judge, “I don’t understand why I was charged with the murder of this child.” Stallworth was initially arrested after police allegedly found child pornography on his phone. He also faces four counts of possession of child pornography and three counts of possession of child pornography with intent to distribute.
If found guilty, both Stallworth and Brown could be sentenced to death. I offer my condolences to the loved ones of this innocent child.
*UPDATE* Suspect Derick Brown reportedly later told authorities that she witnessed her boyfriend, Patrik Stallworth, sexually assault Kamille McKinney. Stallworth and Brown are blaming each other for Kamille’s murder. Brown was also the person who directed authorities to the dumpster where Kamille’s remains were disposed of, ultimately leading police to the landfill where the little girl was found.
