Tyesha Patrice Bell Missing

03/16/2021: Please read the update to this case here.

Eighteen years after she was first reported missing, the remains of Tyesha Bell have been located. I shared Tyesha’s story back in June 2020, explaining that in May 2003, Tyesha was living with her sister when she went outside of their Aurora, Illinois home to take a phone call and never returned. Initially, there weren’t panicked concerns but when none of the 22-year-old’s loved ones could get into contact with her throughout the day, Tyesha’s family contacted the authorities.

Sadly, it’s being reported that the remains of Tyesha Bell were first found back in December, but it took some time to run DNA samples. Soon, authorities learned that the remains were conclusively identified as belonging to Tyesha, but as the information brings some sense of closure to the young mother of two’s family, the revelation also deepens the mystery.

Tyesha Patrice Bell MissingA news report states that Tyesha’s remains—her bones, clothes, and a few personal items—were found in a shallow grave in Kane County, about 30 minutes from Aurora. Tyesha’s death has been ruled a homicide, but at this stage, it’s unclear if investigators have suspects or persons of interest. They are asking the public for help in bringing those responsible for Tyesha’s death to justice.

“Our detectives continue to have working theories in Tyesha’s case, but we need more information before criminal charges can be authorized, and that’s where the public comes in,” Aurora Police Department Bureau of Investigative Services Commander Jack Fichtel said in a statement. “We implore anyone who may have information to please come forward.”

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call (630) 256-5517 or email tips@aurora.il.us. You can submit information anonymously to the  Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000 (cash reward up to $5,000).

Please share this story about Tyesha Bell to help aid in the investigation into her death. She is our sister and her life matters.

Brittany Williams Missing (1)

Life at home for seven-year-old Brittany Williams wasn’t an easy one. Her mother, Rose Marie Thompson, was rounding the end of her pregnancy with Brittany when she found out that she had contracted AIDS, and following her baby’s birth, it was confirmed that little Brittany, too, had the disease. After entering the world, Baby Brittany was shuffled from one foster home to another, and not long before she passed away in 1996, Brittany’s mother gave her daughter to Kim E. Parker to be cared for. (more…)
