Joyce Dupont, 25, Vanished After Asking Her Sister To Babysit In 1994

Joyce Dupont Missing

No one has had contact with Joyce Dupont since 1994. It isn’t much known about her case, but what has been shared by a handful of agencies tells a tale of a mystery that has plagued authorities for decades. As the story is told, Joyce was at her sister’s home in Lake Charles, Louisiana (Calcasieu Parish) on September 8. Joyce asked her sister if she could babysit her child and left on her way, but sadly, the 25-year-old mother never returned.

It’s reported that Joyce walked down to the corner of Bank and Broad streets because that was the location where she intended to catch a bus to the Housing Authority. This is where information seems to dwindle; it’s unclear if Joyce boarded her bus or made it to her location. The Doe Network simply states that “somewhere along the line, she disappeared.”

Investigators reportedly don’t believe that Joyce Dupont walked away from her life. It’s stated that she was a “responsible person” and wouldn’t have vanished without contacting her child or her loved ones. Unfortunately, any information about Joyce’s personal and professional life hasn’t been shared, nor is there information made public about the investigation into her missing person case, including if authorities had any suspects.

Additionally, I was only able to find one photo of Joyce (above) on record.

At the time of her disappearance, Joyce Dupont stood 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed 135 pounds. She had black/dark brown hair and brown eyes. Joyce reportedly had several tattoos: “Lynn” on her leg (not specified which), “LD” on her arm (not specified which), and “Sexy” somewhere on either her hand or leg. Joyce’s dental records are reportedly not available, but her DNA is on file. She would 51-years-old at the time of this publication.

Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the Lake Charles Police Department – Cold Case Unit at (337) 491-1311 or their local authorities. Her agency case number is 94038214 and her NCIC Number is M-833454982.
