Aneshia Harris Missing Detroit

A Detroit, Michigan teen who went missing in 1993 has barely been talked about in public reports in decades. Aneshia Harris was a 19-year-old student in the Motor City when she mysteriously vanished all those years ago. Once again, like many of the cases here on Our Black Girls, there isn’t much known about Aneshia, her life, or her family, and unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that there has been any movement on her case since its inception. Where she attended school hasn’t even been shared.

According to the National Missing & Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), Aneshia Harris decided on April 3, 1993, that she didn’t want to go to school. Instead, it’s reported, she took a trip to her stepbrother’s girlfriend’s house. What her relationship was with her stepbrother or his girlfriend is unknown as are their names, but no one has seen or heard from Aneshia since that time.

There haven’t been reports regarding if Aneshia reached her destination, if there was anyone else at the home if she did arrive, and if she left the location and went missing after her visit.

At the time of her disappearance, Aneshia Harris stood 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed 115 to 125 pounds. She had black/dark brown hair and brown eyes. Her hair was reportedly worn short, but she may have had her hair styled in braided extensions. Aneshia also had pierced ears and is described as being a nail-biter. She had keloid scars behind both of her ears. She was last wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and white low-top Nike shoes. Aneshia’s middle name is “Chevon,” her nickname is “Neisha,” and it’s reported that she may go by the names “Nicole” or “Nikki.” She would be 47-years-old at the time of this publication.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-1800 or their local authorities. Her agency case number is 1605140231.

Please share this story about Aneshia Harris to help reignite the investigation into her case. She is our sister and her life matters.

Daphne Jones Missing (1)

A young woman has been missing for over two decades and there doesn’t seem to be any movement on her case. It was just days after the New Year when Daphne Jones reportedly had enough. Reports state that the 22-year-old was a student at the University of New Orleans and moved out of the dormitory into an apartment off-campus. Daphne learned that she was pregnant, so she reportedly decided it was time to leave school, quit her part-time hostess job at Brennan’s Restaurant, and return home to Maryland to move back in with her mother. She vanished before that could happen. (more…)
