Audrey Nelson, 45: Last Seen Walking To Bus Stop In 2012

This story is centered in Detroit, Michigan, a place where I once called home as a toddler. My family hails from the Motor City, by way of the Deep South, and while I may have fond memories of my grandparents’ home around 6 Mile, not far from there is where Audrey Nelson went missing. Details regarding how and why the 45-year-old woman disappeared are unknown, but I’ve shared what I could find regarding her case.
It was on May 19, 2012, when Audrey Nelson was reportedly making her way to her boyfriend’s residence. While his address hasn’t been shared, Audrey was reportedly witnessed walking in the vicinity of W. 7 Mile Rd and Pierson (48219 zip code) and it is said she was headed toward a nearby bus stop. Her boyfriend lived in Southwest Detroit but she was never seen or heard from again.
It is unclear if Audrey made it to her boyfriend’s home and didn’t return, or didn’t make it at all. Any personal information about Audrey including her family life or workplace information is unknown. She reportedly didn’t have a car when she went missing but it has been noted that she previously owned a dark blue Ford Focus.
At the time of her disappearance, Audrey Nelson stood 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed 150 to 170 pounds. She had dark brown hair and brown eyes. Both of her ears are pierced and she wore prescription glasses. Audrey’s middle name is “Marie” and she would be 54-years-old at the time of this publication.
Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-1800 or their local authorities. The agency case number is 1503300260.
Please share this story about Audrey Nelson to help reignite the investigation into this case. She is our sister and her life matters.
