A popular Instagram and OnlyFans influencer reportedly lost her life after an alleged stalker descended on her Texas apartment. Janae Gagnier, more popularly known as Miss Mercedes Morr, was a social media personality who boasted over 2.5 million followers on Instagram alone. She had befriended several celebrities and was famous in her own right, but tragedy would befall the 33-year-old beauty, and it was her father who discovered her body on August 29.

Miss Mercedes Morr Janae Gagnier Murder (1)Mark Gagnier told reporters what he witnessed that fateful day.

“I know my daughter and when I got to my daughter’s house and it was locked up and she’s not answering my phone call, which is not like her, I knew something was up. So, I didn’t hesitate to kick the door down,” said Gagnier. “What I saw, I wouldn’t want any parent to go through.”

He found Janae laying at the bottom of her staircase. A medical examiner would later determine she was strangled and suffered a traumatic concussion.

Initially, Mark believed that she had fallen and died in an accident, but when he went upstairs, he came across a man with a knife in his neck. Kevin Accorto, 34, was still alive and twitching in his final moments. Mark saw that there were writings all over the walls, purportedly by Accorto as he confessed to the crime, apologized for his actions, and professed his love for Janae Gagnier. Accorto would stab himself multiple times during this murder-suicide.

An investigation into this tragedy would reveal that Janae did not know Accorto, leaving authorities to believe that he was a deranged fan who stalked her. Mark admitted to being concerned for his daughter, especially as she lived her life so openly on social media.

“My monthly conversation is, Janae you have all these followers. Some probably because they love you, some because they like your look, some more crazy, and some obsessed,” said Gagnier. Since her death, the Gagnier family has faced off against the cruelty of the internet as people have justified Janae’s death because of her racy images and online persona.

“She’s very cautious about her surroundings,” Janae’s mother, Jeanetta Grover said. “Unfortunately, someone basically was stalking, and killed my baby.”

Artists like Cardi B, Bow Wow, Snoop Dogg, and Safaree Samuels have all posted messages of disbelief. Janae’s sister, London, shared her grief on social media.
