Lucinda Farris, 29: Left Mother’s Home With A Friend & Vanished

A heartbroken mother has continuously been searching for her daughter, Lucinda Farris, ever since the 29-year-old disappeared from North Carolina in 2020. The last time Marie Farris saw her daughter, Lucinda was leaving Marie’s home, reportedly located on the southwestern side of Winston-Salem. She is said to have left the residence with a friend but was never seen or heard from again.
It is unclear why it took some time before Lucinda was classified as a missing person, but an official report was not filed until June 2020. Back in January 2021, Marie spoke with local news station WXII about how “excruciating” it has been not knowing where her daughter is or if she is in danger.
“It’s been kind of devastating not hearing her texting me knocking on my door calling me, it’s just a mother intuition we can tell when something is wrong,” said Marie. “She lights up a room she makes you laugh if she can help you she can help you. She’s a giving person she doesn’t bother anybody.”
At the time of Marie’s interview, police reportedly believed that Lucinda may still be alive somewhere between Winston-Salem and Atlanta. It is about a five-hour driving distance between the two cities.
Investigators reportedly have a person of interest, but the individual has not been named publicly. Authorities were hoping to talk with other potential witnesses who may have seen Lucinda Farris during the time of her disappearance to establish a more concrete timeline of events. What Lucinda and her friend planned on doing after they left Marie’s home is unknown, but the police seemed to have a theory.
“The person she was last seen with, we believe they may have caused her harm,” said Winston-Salem police Homicide Detective Michael Ognosky.
Marie also added, “It’s a hurting feeling to not know that she is here or gone. If you know anything just come forth please I am begging you — come forth and let me know that my daughter is fine.”
At the time of her disappearance, Lucinda Farris stood 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed 105 pounds. She had black/dark brown hair and brown eyes. She had several scars: right elbow, right cheek, left cheek, left wrist. The exact dimensions of those scars are unknown. Lucinda also had a tattoo of a flower on her upper right arm. Her middle name is “Denise” and she went by the nicknames “Cindy” and “Sweet P.” Lucinda may or may not have a chipped front tooth (see photos included in this article). She would be 31-years-old at the time of this publication.
