Monique Boamah, 33: Vanished After Being Driven To Airport In 2021

It is always difficult to wrap your head around a case with unclear details, but it is apparent that there are several facts missing—or unshared—about Monique Boamah. When I say that there is close to nothing reported about Monique’s disappearance, that is not an understatement; according to the government’s National Missing Persons and Unidentified Persons System, the 33-year-old vanished from Fort Wayne, Indiana, last year, but the few details that can be found paint a fuzzy picture of what occurred.
It has been reported that Monique Boamah lived in Yonkers, New York but at the time she went missing, she was visiting a friend in Fort Wayne. The details of their relationship are unknown and how long Monique was in Indiana is also a mystery. On April 13, 2021, Monique was said to have been driven to the Fort Wayne International Airport, however, reports have not stated if a friend gave her a ride, if she took public transportation, or if she called a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft.
This is where things get even more perplexing: NamUs stated that Monique was traveling to “a possible destination of Washington, D.C.,” also reporting that “her travel information is unknown.” Additionally, it wasn’t confirmed if Monique had even boarded the flight, which is puzzling because that particular airport is quite small and easy to navigate. Why flight records did not verify this information with law enforcement is also strange, or if they have, it simply hasn’t been shared publicly. It was stated that Monique hasn’t been in contact with her loved ones and her social media accounts could not be found.
If there has been a resolution to this case, that information has not been relayed to NamUs. However, a flyer pertaining to her case has been circulated on Facebook by those who knew Monique as recently as three weeks ago.
At the time of her disappearance, Monique Boamah stood 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighed 150 pounds. She had black/dark brown hair and brown eyes. Both of her ears are pierced. What she was last seen wearing and any distinguishing marks are unknown. Monique’s middle name is “Katrina.”
Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department at (260) 427-1201 or their local authorities. The agency case number is 21F116864.
