Wanda Floyd, 60: Vanished After Leaving Hospital In 2020

Wanda Floyd Missing

A missing person case that surfaced during the quarantine doesn’t seem to have had any updates since it was first reported. The world was under lockdown back in 2020, and as people were doing their best to survive during a time of uncertainty, Wanda Floyd went missing from Decatur, Alabama. There hasn’t been much information shared about the 60-year-old or her cold case, but it is a mystery that I hope will gain more attention to help bring resolution to Wanda’s loved ones.

Wanda Floyd Missing

According to reports, It was only July 15 when Wanda Floyd suffered an unknown medical emergency in the morning hours. An ambulance picked her up in the area of Jefferson Street’s 2900 block in Courtland, Alabama, and took her to the Decatur Morgan Hospital, a little over 20 minutes away. It has been stated that Wanda was treated for whatever ailment she was dealing with and was discharged from the hospital. From there, it was reported that Wanda Floyd secured a ride back to Courtland, but it is unclear if she was picked up by someone or used another method of transportation. Additionally, there isn’t clarity regarding whether the Courtland location was her home or someone else’s.

Wanda has not been seen or heard from again. However, items belonging to her have been located. It is open to question when these were found. Still, it was reported that Wanda’s Medicaid card and identification were discovered on the ground near Rosa Park Street and Harold Washington Avenue in Courtland. Also, Wanda has not returned to pick up any of the checks sent to her, and it has been stated that this is uncharacteristic behavior.

Wanda Floyd: What To Know

At the time of her disappearance, Wanda Floyd stood 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighed 154 pounds. She had black/dark brown hair and brown eyes. Any distinguishing marks have not been shared. Photos suggest she wore prescription glasses but that has not been listed in her report. The Charley Project stated that Wanda “suffers from mental illness and takes psychiatric medication.”

Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office at (256) 974-2500 or their local authorities. The agency case number is 2010-0535.
