In this Sterling, Virginia story, police reportedly do not believe that the missing person has fallen victim to foul play. Yet, the authorities are still asking the public for help due to its mysterious nature.

On September 2, 2022, the Culpeper Police Department executed a welfare check on Emily Benjamin. Who called for that check and why they believed it was necessary remains unclear, but it was stated that the authorities could contact the 34-year-old. During that conversation, Emily reportedly told police that she was just fine but was on a road trip out of town. Police claim she said she would return home in two weeks, but it was not shared if she was alone or in the company of others. However, Emily has not yet made it back to her residence.

Her Vehicle Is Found Abandoned

On September 20, Emily’s vehicle was located in front of an AutoZone car parts store in Sterling, a city just outside Washington, D.C. It is unclear if it was abandoned or if there was an issue with the vehicle that kept it from operating properly. Her family was said to have expressed that they do not know how Emily would travel without her car. The vehicle was transported to Emily’s mother’s residence. There wasn’t anything that pointed to Emily’s whereabouts.

As previously stated, investigators do not believe this is a case involving foul play, but any information regarding the status of their investigation is unknown. Emily’s family has taken to social media to help spread awareness about this case.

At the time of her disappearance, Emily Benjamin stood 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed 220 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes, and sometimes wears glasses. Emily has a birthmark on her left leg.
