Shamia Little, 17: Remains Of Kidnapped Teen Identified

A Louisiana family is grieving this evening after a missing teen was found deceased earlier this week. On July 6, 17-year-old Shamia Little was reported missing from Shreveport, and it was stated that she was last seen around the area of Jacob Street and Kennedy Lane, not far from Douglas William’s Park. A search of the area uncovered a gruesome scene after the teen’s remains were located near that location.
It is unknown at this time how Shamia Little died, but authorities have listed her death as a homicide. Authorities have continuously collected evidence in the park and even enlisted K9 units to help with the investigation. According to reports, police stated Shamia was with her boyfriend near the park when they were robbed. In the chaos, Shamia was abducted at gunpoint, and the boy reportedly ran to call the police for help. When authorities arrived, Shamia couldn’t be found.
Workers from a Shreveport company called Putman Restoration were said to have discovered Shamia Little while on the job.
“Tragically, one of our team members discovered her body Monday while mowing near our Curtis Lane location in Shreveport,” Putt Putman reportedly said. “While we did not know Shamia prior to her passing, we grieve with our community for the tragic and senseless loss of her life which ended far too soon.”

Shamia’s loved ones have shared information regarding her funeral, which will be held on July 24 at 12:00 p.m. in the Booker T. Washington High School auditorium. The teen was a senior there, and many of her friends and classmates wanted to join together in mourning her loss while celebrating her life.
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help with costs, and donations can be made HERE. Additionally, it’s reported that monetary donations for the family can also be dropped off at the Precious Memories Mortuary Chapel. Sadly, there have been several people attempting to capitalize off of Shamia’s death as they have launched numerous crowdfunding campaigns that are not legitimate.
Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department at (318) 673-7300 or (318) 673-6955 or the Caddo-Shreveport Crime Stoppers at (318) at 673-7373. Crime Stoppers is reportedly offering a reward upwards of $3,000 for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for the callous murder of Shamia Little.
I send my most heartfelt condolences to Shamia’s loved ones in the wake of this tragedy. I can’t imagine the devastation they feel.
Please share this story about Shamia Little to help her family receive justice in this case. She is our sister, and her life matters.
