Kennedy Walton, 26: Last Seen At A Bar In 2022

Kennedy Walton missing

It was weeks away from the first day of Spring in 2022 when Kennedy Walton mysteriously disappeared. The 26-year-old’s aunt, Marco Dean, described her as a “gentle giant” when speaking with Fox 2 Now in March of that same year. It was then that Kennedy vanished after a night out with friends at a restaurant in St. Charles, Missouri. Police haven’t shared much about the investigation, but they have detailed the circumstances surrounding the case.

On March 3, 2022, Kennedy Walton left her mother’s home in Belleville, Illinois, at 10:30 p.m. She left by car—her mother’s white 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe—because her own vehicle wasn’t working. Kennedy was in town because her mom, Jacques Dean, was having surgery. Walton returned to help care for her sisters.

“She came to watch the girls and took them to swimming,” Jacques recalled. “She also picked me up from the hospital that night, and she was going to stay here at my house.” They arrived home from the hospital sometime around 9:30 p.m. “I went in, took a shower and everything. I don’t know what time she left, but I’m thinking that’s when she left.”

Later in the evening, when Jacques got up to use the restroom, she realized her daughter, and her Tahoe, weren’t at the house. She had assumed Kennedy was still upstairs. Jacques texted Kennedy around midnight, and Kennedy told her she would be on her way home “in a minute.” When Jacques checked on her daughter at 2:00 a.m., Kennedy didn’t respond.

Meanwhile, Kennedy was said to have traveled about 45 minutes across the border to St. Charles, Missouri, where she ended up at Show Me’s Bar & Grill. At 1:00 a.m. on March 4, Kennedy’s roommate told police he last saw her there. He also informed police they were at the bar celebrating a friend’s birthday with several others.

To corroborate the story, investigators combed over security camera footage. A police report states that Kennedy Walton is seen having food and drinks with friends. She then leaves the establishment at 1:10 a.m. The report says she “gets up from her seat at the bar, exits the business, and walks to what appears to be the white Chevrolet Tahoe parked in the front parking lot of the business.” It also notes that Kennedy did not seem to be followed to the vehicle.

A friend notified detectives that Kennedy abruptly left and they found her in the Tahoe crying. Kennedy allegedly told the friend she would be “fine.” Soon after, the same friend was in their vehicle on the road and pulled up next to Kennedy. However, Kennedy sped away, causing concern. The friend went to Kennedy’s home but only arrived in time to see her driving away. That was reportedly the last point of contact with the missing woman.

“I have had seizures, two seizures, worrying about Kennedy,” said Marco. “She told her she was on her way back over there, but she never did show up. Jacques called her back maybe a half an hour to an hour later. The phone just rang.”

Later, it was learned that Kennedy’s phone was shut off around noon on the day she went missing. Then, six days later, the Tahoe was located just two blocks from Kennedy’s home. It was reportedly abandoned; however, a neighbor told investigators that they witnessed someone, a man, park the vehicle and leave the scene. Police recovered the vehicle, dusted it for fingerprints, and returned it to Kennedy’s mother. Police said there didn’t seem to be any damage to the truck. However, Jacques noted that many items were missing.

“We’ve been running around the neighborhood looking for Kennedy, putting up flyers,” Marco added. “We’ve also been putting it on Facebook, Twitter, to see if anybody can just come up with anything. If they’ve seen her anywhere, something because we haven’t heard nothing.” She added, “There’s like five other Black females missing. That’s weird. That’s not common. I’m thinking it’s sex trafficking the women.”

“There’s a lot of internet prostitution going on, and a lot of these girls are being held against their will,” said Coffee Wright, the founder of Missing Person Task Force. “They’re taking a lot of women from the St. Louis area.”

Marco also told Dateline that Kennedy was “an excellent sister.” She stated, “[Kennedy] would come and get them and take them places. She would come over to the house and just spend quality time with them.” Kennedy’s mother, Jacques Dean, echoed the sentiments.

“She loved her sisters,” Jacques added. “Kennedy would get in the car and just drive around the city in a drop of a hat. She would take them and listen to loud music, of course.”

At the time of her disappearance, Kennedy Walton stood 5 feet 10 or 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed between 260-270 pounds. She had black/dark brown hair and brown eyes. Both of her ears were pierced. Her middle name begins with an “A.” Kennedy was last seen wearing black leggings, a black shirt, and a black jacket.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Belleville Police Department at (618) 234-1212 or their local authorities. The agency case number is 22-00983.
